Open Letter to my little girl.
Sweetie, it is your first birthday and I can't believe it! This year has gone by so quickly, but so much has happened!
You were born one year ago today, I remember that day so clearly, it was the day that my life irrevocably changed. My fear and anxiety about parenthood melted away when I got to hold you for the first time. You were wrapped up like a little burrito. Your little red face showing. You were absolutely beautiful. as I looked at you I touched your little soft cheeks, and I thought "Oh, she's beautiful". Your daddy and I cried the first time we heard your little cry, it was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard. I was so happy to get you in my arms. but they whisked you away quickly to get you and me cleaned up. Daddy followed you to the nursery and you met your abuelita and abuelito and aunts and uncles and cousins along the way. When they finally brought you to me, You were so hungry, I fed you your first little bottle and you drank it down and took a nap in my arms. Then your daddy took you and held you and just looked at the amazing tiny miracle in his hands.
We had prayed so hard and so long for you it was amazing to see you finally here.
Isabella you have changed and grown so much in the past year, from a tiny little baby that couldn't even keep your eyes open to look at me to a toddling, babbling, and ever laughing little toddler who is incredibly curious and amazingly cute! Every month would make me a little sad to see that stage go by, but each month brought with it amazing new abilities and new glimpses at your little personality. You are now your own individual! I love to meet more of you each day! I love to see you learn and grow every day. I thank God for giving me the absolute privelige of watching you grow, watching you discover the world and holding you while you giggle. I thank God that I get to feel your hugs and cuddles and your little hands on my face. I thank God for giving me the chance to see your silly faces, your smiles, your beautiful eyes and kiss your little bitty toes.
I thank God for your very presence. One year ago I was granted an incredible miracle, I was entrusted with the most precious gift of all, you.
I love you sweetie, Happy 1st Birthday.
sincerely,
Your Mom.
