I wrote a fabulous blog this morning and when I went to publish, there was some stupid error and lost it all. With it I lost my will to blog.
but I'm back, only to mention that I have finished grading the written portion of my latest exam. They did awful, horrible. and I thought there were some particularly good questions on this one. *sigh* when will I stop feeling guilty about students not studying enough or not taking the swiftness of summer school seriously. *shrug* I should just wait and see what the multiple choice comes out like, I"m certain that will pull the grades way up, it was ridiculously easy, hence I felt ok with making the written, nice and challenging. I'm certain they'll do fine. bleh.
I feel the immense need to buy more scrapping stuff, not certain why but its just so fun to buy! I've never loved buying anything so much! It kinda scares me, it just doesn't seem.... ok. Well I'll be laying off the buying for a bit since I'm watching my cash budget. I pulled out a bit more money cause, well I was running low, which I know is completely opposite the point of having a cash allowance. You're supposed to learn to portion your money out and think about what your buying. I know, but well you know. You know?
Oh well ok, gotta run, trying to get to bed early.

I'm so annoyed with myself
You know my own procrastination is starting to get to me.
I'm not certain how other people can stand my procrastination. I think I must have that sweetness factor that Dr. Bob has. He is chronically late everyone still loves him. Its like, everyone is sitting around the meeting table and !/2 horu after we were supposed to meet and everyone is hungry or angry, Dr. Bob shows up in the doorway, glasses askew, moppy hair disheveled and says "Hey guys!" and we all look at each other collectively and then back at Dr. Bob and say in a happy aw shucks how can we be mad at you kind of way "Oh, Dr. Bob!"
I must have that thing. *shrug* anyway, it actually only took me about 1 hour total to grade my exams and put them in the computer. I so should have done that on Friday! but again that would mean I was not procrastinating. *sigh* and we all know, that is not my nature.
Speaking of which, back to work.

Burning the midnight oil
See this is what happens when I worry about blogging enough! Too much blog, not enough work. *sigh* Ok actually it is due to my procrastination.
Hey I'm a big girl, I can admit it.
This sucks.
*sigh*

New toys! New toys!
Only the other scrappin chica-rica's can understand the joy that comes with obtaining a few more things with which to alter/paste/cut/paint/stamp/ink etc. paper. Or the joy that comes with finding something to carry all your altering/pasting/cutting/painting/stamping/inking and paper things. I have done both today (I know in my earlier blog, I said I didn't get much done and well.... I didn't, unless it was scrapping related.) I got the call and went to my LSS to pick up my new Tote-ally Cool Tote, the green and black one! Then I picked out a yard of ribbon that would match, to tie on the cool name tag I am already planning so I can always identify my cute bag. :) Oh and I obtained some fabulous cats eye ink pads as mentioned earlier.
I *heart* scrappin' stuff!

I have an audience?! Crap! Now what?
I talked to Westexgirl this morning, (like I usually do on my joyous commute, ha!) She accompanied me (albeit virtually) on my errands on my way to work this morning. I had to stop at CVS to pick up my pictures and some Abreva for my afflicted husband (oral herpes! cold sores! Yes, like the kind most of you have! sheesh people.....) and then I HAD to stop at Hobby Lobby. Yes, HAD TO. (Don't question my actions!) They had stamps and inks at 1/2 off so it was like buy one get one free! so of course I got 3 sets of cats eye stamp pads and got 3 free! I felt really guilty, I took a package off of each hook and plopped them into my basket, it was truly decadent! I also got a couple of stamps after much deliberation. The whole time talking to westexgirl. She then informs me that the other scrapping chica-rica's are reading my blog and have commented on the lack of action. (ahem! yes I'm squinting right at YOU!) I'm busy, I mean REALLY busy, like so super duper busy I don't even know where to start! So yeah! Step off man!
Ok, thats all malarkey. Total Bullsh**. I've just been really lax about the blog. Had no idea you were checking in on me, the little ol' Fox. Since I know you're looking I'll try to write more often about my little ol' life here in "the big city".
So here is the update: I got into my office finally (after not getting my pics at CVS cause they *freaking* lost them, good thing i still have digiital copies) and hung up with westexgirl and turned on my 'puter. my microsoft outlook opens with my daily calendar. CRAP! the interview I am supposed to go to is from 11-12 not 1-2 as I had thought all weekend and it was 10:58!!! Here I am happily munching on my warm BK whopper with no tomato, no onion and extra pickle. I have not put my makeup on, and well just all around not settled into my office. So I drop the whopper and pick up my notebook a pen and glance at my makeup bag and say "to he** with it" and move my booty quickly to the meeting room, I wasn't even the most late, luckily someone else got there later than me! *phew* saved by someone elses even greater lack of attention.
It all worked out, got back to my office at 1:00, my whopper cold, but still tasty, (BK whopper at any point is tasty, unless westexgirl has injected it and put it in the incubator, ask her about that) but now, here I am. Still at square one. No work done.
See how busy I am? Thats what I said to begin with.
Step off man!
lol, just kidding. I'll blog more, check back later. ;)

I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues.
Ok I know, its been a long time gone. Sorry all, just buys with school, scrap stuff and um, ok, nothing else.
The lot next door to our townhome was a vacant lot, well vacant except for large towering trees. Large trees in the middle of the city. It was a treasure to look out and see refreshing green leaves and pine needles, brown bark and dappled sunlight through my window. I often would stop doing work at the computer and look out the window and see the happy living trees swaying in the breeze.
Now they are gone.
Someone has bought the lot, (mind you, it was overgrown with vegetation and was bcoming a dump site, so, if you just looked up, it was beautiful, if you actually looked into the lot, um, not so beautiful. They are putting up more town homes. They began cutting and pulling the trees down a couple of days ago.
It's made me sad to see the tall trees go, the sky seems too bright now, it looks hotter out the window now. I cried when they pulled down the big oak tree. I felt the ground tremble as the tall pines crashed to the floor. I told the trees thank you for all the years of shade and air cleaning they had provided. I worry for the birds and squirrels that flew and scampered around that lot and came to visit our yard often. DH and I sat at our kitchen table and had our last breakfast looking at the trees outside the window.
I am truly truly sad and somewhat angry to see them go.
At the same time I feel like a ginormous hypocrite. Where my home stands, I'm certain trees stood before. I drive my car, I heat and cool my home, I like the comforts modern life gives us. But I still feel the pull of the trees. Though I remember I am a conservationist, not a preservationist, we can use resources, but must use them wisely. I need to use them more wisely than we are now, I mean personally.
I've always had an interesting relationship with trees. I feel about them like I would feel about my ancestors. Trees are like historians, they stand steadfast watching history, documenting change, always quietly, strongly, standing witness to what goes on around them. Someday I will see the Redwoods and Sequoias, I know I will weep to stand in the presence of such majesty, of such beauty, such history, such holiness. I will be entering the most beautiful temple that was truly built by the hand of God. Thats how I feel about trees.
And now, they're gone. Goodbye trees, I'm so so sorry.
